Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė opened the photo exhibition about Ukrainian refugees and met the leadership of Khazar University

On April 9, Prime Minister of Lithuania Inga Ruginienė participated in the opening of the exhibition “Not All of Them. Portraits of War Refugees” at Khazar University. The photo exhibition shows the portraits of Ukrainian refugees living in Lithuania.

The exhibition was opened together with Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Rector Dr. Raziya Isayeva, and Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev.

This powerful photo exhibition, initiated by the Embassy of Lithuania, brings together the works of renowned Lithuanian photographers Antanas Sutkus, Artūras Morozovas, and Tadas Kazakevičius. The exhibition tells a story about only a dozen of families. But there are hundreds of thousands of separated families, and millions of affected families. Many of them today live in Ukraine without or with limited electricity, and under constant air-raid sirens. Through striking black-and-white portraits, it tells deeply human stories of Ukrainians who have found refuge in Lithuania — stories of loss, resilience, dignity, and hope.

We are sincerely grateful to Khazar University, its Rector Raziya Isayeva and the entire academic community for their warm welcome and partnership. As emphasized during the opening remarks, such initiatives are not only cultural, but profoundly social and humanitarian.

Prior to the opening of the exhibition, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė had a meeting with the leadership of Khazar University – Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Rector Dr. Raziya Isayeva, and Vice-Rector Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev and discussed further strengthening academic cooperation between Lithuania and Azerbaijan. Exchanges focused on expanding partnerships with Lithuanian higher education institutions, including student mobility, joint research, and institutional collaboration.
