Opportunities of Studying at Lithuanian Universities Were Presented in Baku
"Study at VILNIUS TECH Day" was organized in Baku on April 15 for Azerbaijani higher and secondary education administrators, career counselors, university representatives, governmental officials.
Ambassador Kęstutis Vaškelevičius spoke about enhancing educational ties between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, and highlighted the success story of Lithuania. Today Lithuania is a country of innovators and entrepreneurs, whose talents are widely recognized across Europe. Lithuania created one of the most attractive ecosystems in the whole of region for life sciences, fintech, high-tech, engineering, start-ups; while universities traditionally have a mutually beneficial cooperation with local and international companies. This creates a very favorable environment for students both for studying and for pursuing future career opportunities.
Foreign students are playing an increasingly important role at Lithuanian universities. Many of them chose Lithuania because of a world class quality of education (with around 600+ BA, MA and PhD study programmes taught in English) at quite affordable prices, because of broad career opportunities, because of one of the best work-life/studies balance that exists in Lithuania. In addition, Lithuanian universities [and cities] offer an easy access to sports, leisure activities; extremely vibrant cultural life, affordable and very high quality healthcare. All this is very important for younger generation.
K.Vaškelevičius expressed his delight that Lithuanian universities note that Azerbaijani students studying in Lithuania are talented, receive high grades, are very responsible and active in university life.
Ambassador also encouraged future students to apply for the temporary residence permit “the next day, when students learn about their acceptance at the university.”
