Meeting with the Deputy Minister for Digital Development and Transport
On April 30 Lithuanian Ambassador K.Vaškelevičius and Minister Counsellor of the Embassy V.Dagilis met with Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, and Shahin Ismayilov, Director of the Ministry's Department for International Cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the field of freight transport, presenting the potential of Lithuania's logistics sector and the Port of Klaipėda. The Azerbaijani side presented the country's road infrastructure and the development of the Port of Baku. The meeting was also focused on air transport issues, the electronic bus fleet being developed in Baku, the priorities of Azerbaijan's presidency of the ITF (International Transport Forum) and the experience of Lithuania's presidency of this organisation, and the possible cooperation between the countries in the areas of start-ups, smart cities and other digital development and innovation issues.
