Lithuania’s Experience in Combating Disinformation Presented in Baku

On October 23-25, events were held in Azerbaijan to present Lithuania's experience in combating disinformation and strengthening digital literacy. The events were led by Tomas Kazulėnas, director and co-founder of the Civil Resistance Initiative based in Lithuania.

During a roundtable discussion at ADA University with students, faculty members, and think-tank representatives, Tomas Kazulėnas shared Lithuania’s experience and best practices in promoting media literacy and raising public awareness about disinformation and hybrid threats.

Mr. Kazulėnas also conducted digital literacy training for the local Lithuanian diaspora and introduced students of the Lithuanian School in Baku to an interactive computer game designed to help identify and combat disinformation. This innovative approach encourages critical thinking and develops fact-checking skills.

In addition, Tomas Kazulėnas shared Lithuania’s practical tools and experience in strengthening the resilience of society and institutions through research, public awareness campaigns, and international cooperation projects — during sessions held at the Azerbaijani–Ukrainian Center and with the Young European Ambassadors community.

The events were organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Azerbaijan.
