Information on the Issuance of Schengen Visas to Citizens of Turkmenistan

The procedure of issuing Schengen visas to citizens of Turkmenistan has changed.

On July 1, 2026, a representation agreement entered into force, under which the German Embassy in Turkmenistan (Ashgabat) will, on behalf of Lithuania, accept and process Schengen visa applications from citizens of that country.

The new agreement will significantly simplify the process for Turkmenistan residents to obtain a visa to Lithuania for a short-term stay.

From now on, the Lithuanian Embassy in Baku will accept applications for Schengen visas only from Turkmenistan citizens officially residing in Azerbaijan through the VFS Global visa center.
