Cooperation with Azerbaijan National Museum of Art
On September 25, Ambassador Kęstutis Vaškelevičius and Azerbaijani artist, event curator and a member of Lithuanian Azerbaijani community Adil Efendi met with dr. Shirin Melikova, the Director of the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan. New opportunities for cooperation and cultural exchange between Lithuanian and Azerbaijani museums, cultural institutions and artists, as well as between the Museum and the Embassy were discussed in the meeting. The discussion focused on the exchange of exhibitions, creative projects, the promotion of dialogue through art and showcasing the richness of national cultural heritage in both countries.
Dr. Shirin Melikova introduced a priceless repository of cultural heritage of the Art Museum, as well as current and planned exhibitions, including by such prominent Azerbaijani artists like Sattar Bahlulzade, Mirza Kadym Iravani, and others.
