CELEBRATION OF THE 106TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RESTORATION OF THE STATE OF LITHUANIA IN AZERBAIJAN
On February 15th, 2024, the Embassy of Lithuania in Azerbaijan held a diplomatic reception commemorating the 106th anniversary of the restoration of the state of Lithuania. The reception was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan's governmental and non-governmental institutions, public figures, cultural representatives, journalists, diplomats, members of the Lithuanian community in Azerbaijan, the defense attaché of Lithuania and foreign countries to Azerbaijan, and other friends of Lithuania.
„Commemorating the anniversary of the restoration of the State, Lithuania remembers and honours those Azerbaijanis who fought together with Lithuanians defending the independence of Lithuania against the Soviet empire. These days Lithuania stands in solidarity with Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, and sincerely appreciates the Azerbaijani nation for its aid to the people of Ukraine“ - emphasized Viktoras Dagilis, Charge d‘affairs a.i. of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev congratulated those gathered on the day of the restoration of the State of Lithuania. He emphasized that there are a number of mutual projects to do and expressed the hope that relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan will only strengthen in the near future.
During the event, the products of the Lithuanian companies "Svalia", "Žemaitijos pienas", "Stumbras", "Alita", "Lukšių pieninė" and other companies, which successfully distribute their products in Azerbaijan, were presented and they received exceptional attention and interest from the audience.
